CELSO SIM

CELSO SIM

São Paulo native Celso Sim is a singer, actor and composer, known in the alternative circuit of São Paulo music. He was introduced to a slightly wider audience in July 2011, when he shared the stage with Elza Soares and José Miguel Wisnik in the opening show of FLIP, the International Literary Festival of Paraty. His musical education is influenced by the classics of samba and of MPB, but also by the São Paulo vanguard that emerged in the '80s, such as Itamar Assunção and Arrigo Barnabé. Celso Sim – an affirmative reduction of his baptismal name Celso Pacheco Simões - was an actor inJosé Celso Martinez Corrêa’s Teatro Oficina. Besides having composed the soundtrack for plays, he has musical partnerships with Jorge Mautner, José Miguel Wisnik and Arthur Nestrovski, among others.
